Matt Morinelli is the founder of Sitka Strategy & Analytics, helping founder‑led and scaling businesses bring clarity to complex financial, operational, and strategic decisions.
Early advisory and operating experience
Early in his career, Matt worked as a business advisory consultant across South America, partnering directly with owners, operators, and investors to design and implement end‑to‑end financial and operating frameworks. His work covered capital budgeting, investor reporting, KPI design, operational optimization, break‑even and ROI analysis, and the development of data‑driven decision systems across production, sales, and expansion planning.
Institutional finance and investment roles
Matt later joined Jones Lang LaSalle’s Strategic Advisory & Asset Management practice, advising institutional investors and corporate clients on portfolio strategy, asset performance, and capital allocation across international markets. He then served as the sole analyst for a private credit fund within an alternative investment platform, leading deal underwriting, investment committee materials, portfolio monitoring, and investor communications for a national real‑estate credit portfolio.
Amazon and large‑scale FP&A
At Amazon, Matt built and scaled global FP&A workstreams supporting complex, fast‑growing businesses. His work included executive‑level reporting, cross‑functional financial leadership, and ownership of large‑scale capital investment decisions—including over 1B USD in automation and robotics investments across a global logistics and fulfillment network. He also led balance‑sheet optimization and ROI‑driven decisions on asset deployment, expansion, and deprecation.
Product and systems leadership
Most recently, Matt has worked in senior technical product leadership, designing and delivering scalable, automated reporting and analytics platforms used by global teams supporting multi‑billion‑dollar businesses. He partners closely with engineering teams to define roadmaps, write requirements, manage stakeholder adoption, and replace manual processes with durable, standardized systems.
